All Approved Driving Instructors must pass a strict driving test and meet certain other standards to be qualified and registered with the Driving Standards Agency.

How to Choose a Driving Instructor

Your driving school and their driving instructors should have a good reputation, be reliable and punctual and have a car that suits you. Your Approved Driving Instructor should also be able to advise you on all aspects of driving, what books to read, when to take your test and how to practice.

Friends and family can often offer advice, find out who they learned to drive with and what their driving school experience was like. Be prepared to learn from their mistakes as well as their successes, and don't be afraid to make your own decision and find a driving school or driving instructor that suits you.
